5 out of 5 stars Ipod Touch   September 9, 2010
John Kimble (N. Ireland)
After my Nano of 5 years bit the dust I did a little research and decided to go for the Ipod Touch 8GB.

I think it is fair to say that for around £125 you get a great little audio/video player. Although you may think 8GB isn't enough I can still get a whole season on scrubs on mine with space for plenty of songs and downloaded apps. Features also include Bluetooth and Wifi.

Although the Wifi cannot be used all the time, (you need to be in a wifi area or connected to your home router) the ability to get into bed, sort your e-mails, browse the web, search for apps to download (and there are some good ones) as well as view media files and listen to music make this a great buy.

I've had my Touch for a few months now and I feel I've given it a decent road test. I've dropped it once, take it to the gym 4-5 times a week, walk with it, jog with it and it is holding up really well. I've mine wrapped up in a silicone cover and I would recommend this. The battery life is great is you are listening to music and putting the IPOD into sleep mode can extend this. However be prepared for a video and Apps to take a much bigger toll on the battery.

My only regret is that Apple didn't give a 16GB option, the difference between 8 and 32GB is over £100 at time of writing. For me 16BG would have been ideal.

All in all this is a fantastic device and although some people have a hatred for the ITunes format, there can be little argument on the quality of the Ipod Touch.

5 out of 5 stars super gadget   September 7, 2010

You know the gadget is good if its taken over by kids. Here is what I learnt in the rare moments that I was allowed to touch it:

- easy/intuitive to navigate and has a vast memory
- quite impressed with quality and price of games that can be played (some under 1 pound !)
- easy and good quality browsing thanks to wi-fi, sizeable screen with an appropriate resolution
- the only thing is that we have to charge it almost daily (I guess the capacity of the battery had to be sacrificed to manage weight and price of the unit.

My young son found this very easy to use and quick to find his way around. a great entertainment system and educational aid rolled into one.
